Which material
Lava stone is matte and takes on oil from the skin, which is why it is often used for a grounding piece. Quartz and the harder gemstones hold a polish and stay bright over years. The resin versions are lighter and show more color per bead.
Wearing it
The stones are the soft part of these pieces. Keep them off hard surfaces and out of long sun, and the colors hold. Elastic and cord strands should be rolled on rather than pulled.
