Cuarzo Transparente

Clear quartz has no color, which is exactly what makes it useful. In this collection it turns up as the stone that goes with something else — a strand of sandalwood, a rose quartz focal, an obsidian half-circle, an aquamarine pair.

Clear, or crackled

  • Plain clear quartz is transparent and shows whatever sits behind it. On the wrist it reads cool and almost invisible.
  • Cracked quartz, heated and quenched so the inside breaks into a web, throws light in every direction instead of passing it through. It is the louder of the two.
  • The 108 strand here runs quartz with sandalwood in one length, so the stone and the wood alternate down the whole count.

Why it appears in pairs

Quartz is the one stone that does not change what it is strung with. It takes the register of whatever sits beside it: with rose quartz it goes toward affection, with black obsidian toward clearing, with sandalwood toward practice.

That is why most of this collection is a duo rather than a single. If you already know which stone you want, quartz is the piece that lets it stay that stone.

Wearing it

Quartz is hard and takes daily wear without trouble. Crackled strands are more brittle at the surface — keep them off anything abrasive and they stay bright.

Choose the plain if you want the stone to disappear, the crackled if you want it to catch light. If the count is what you want rather than the stone, where to start counting picks up from there.
