The bracelets in this collection come from two material worlds that have almost nothing in common: carved bone and cord.
Carved bone
Yak bone and deer antler are the first group, and they are carved rather than strung — dzi patterns, vajra, guardian lions, treasure vases, and the auspicious symbols, with the figure cut into the bead rather than added to it. Bone is dense enough to hold that detail, and it takes a deep dye, which is why the lines stay sharp.
Cord
The second group has no stone at all. Red cord, five-colour braid, vajra knots, and flat knots — the piece is the tying, and at most a silver or jade bead sits at the join.
What sits between them
A few pieces here mix the two: a woven cord with a carved bone bead, or a tassel closing a strand of beads. These show the difference most clearly — bone is warm and heavy, cord is neither.
Choosing
If you want weight and a carved surface, take the bone. If you want something that never comes off, take the cord. The bone pieces in full are set out separately.
