Cuarzo Rosa

Rose quartz is pink, and it is the only shade of pink in this shop that comes from the stone itself rather than from a treatment. The color arrives from trace elements inside the quartz as it forms — which is why it runs from a milky blush to a deeper rose, and why it is rarely even across a single strand.

The pink, and how it is set

  • Milky rose quartz is the softer reading. It looks opaque rather than clear, and sits close to skin tone.
  • Deeper rose holds its color in low light, where pale pink tends to grey out.
  • Plain bead strands show the stone as a row of the same color, with the variation left in.
  • Gold-filled wire pieces wrap a single stone and leave it open, so the pink sits against the wrist instead of inside a frame.

Five pieces here, and three of them carry something else as well — a seashell, a peach, a chakra order. Rose quartz is rarely asked to work alone.

Why it is worn

The association is affection, and it goes back far enough that rose quartz turns up in almost every tradition that has a stone for it. In this collection it sits at the warm end, beside the garnets and the pink crystal. The pieces grouped for affection are where it appears most.

Wearing it

Quartz is hard and takes daily wear. Rose quartz is slightly less durable than clear quartz and will dull at the surface over years before it needs attention. Keep it out of long sun.

Choose the depth of pink you want on the wrist. The milky ones disappear; the deeper ones stay pink indoors.
