A ghau is the small travelling shrine worn across the Tibetan world, a lidded box that keeps an image or a sacred item close to the body. This one opens on two hinged doors and holds a golden figure of Ksitigarbha, the bodhisattva traditionally called on to safeguard beings in difficulty and to watch over travellers and the departed.

Silver-tone doors pierced with scrolling openwork fold back to reveal the figure standing with staff and jewel against a dark interior. The gold-tone crown and base frame the shrine, with blue and red accents at the crown and a silver-tone bead hanging beneath. A black braided cord is included, so the box can be worn at the chest straight away.

Wear it as a portable place of refuge, a small shrine for the road, for practice, or for keeping a protective presence with you through the day.

Beneficios

Portable Shrine: A ghau lets a sacred image travel with you, turning a pendant into a small place of refuge wherever the day goes.

Ksitigarbha's Vow: The bodhisattva is traditionally called on to protect travellers and those in difficulty, giving the piece a steady protective meaning.

Two-Door Reveal: The hinged doors open to show the figure inside, so wearing it also becomes a small daily ritual of attention.

Tibetan Tradition: Ghau boxes have carried this role across the Himalayas for centuries, keeping a long visual tradition close to the body.
